The challenge
Important events are scattered across dozens of separate sources, and manually tracking them in one calendar is tedious — people needed a way to subscribe to just the categories they care about, with no registration or manual importing.
The solution

How it works
Each subscription is a plain URL with the selected tags encoded in it, so the service needs no user accounts or subscriber database. When a calendar app polls the feed, the backend collects the matching events, renders them as an RFC 5545 .ics document and caches the result in Redis for two hours — repeat requests from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook are served from the cache instead of rebuilding the feed.

MCP server for AI assistants
StayTuned also exposes its event catalog through a public Model Context Protocol server at stay-tuned.io/mcp: 12 read-only tools for search, categories, topics, trending and upcoming events, 30 requests per minute and no API key. Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP-compatible client can answer questions like “when is the next SpaceX launch?” or “what's on the Formula 1 schedule?” straight from the catalog — setup takes one command in Claude Code or a few lines of JSON config.
The result
The service is completely free, with no ads or tracking, and is built to stay reliable under load thanks to Redis-based caching.
